As part of its ongoing efforts to support refugees and the most vulnerable groups in the Middle East, the International Organization for Human Rights and Refugee Affairs conducted an official visit to Lebanon
to strengthen cooperation with local official authorities and enhance strategic partnerships.
The Governor of Beirut received a high-level delegation from the organization, headed by High Commissioner for the Middle East and North Africa Dr. Majed Al-Rakabi, with the attendance of Deputy High Commissioner for the Middle East and North Africa Mr. Imad Al-Rakabi, and High Commissioner for the Lebanese Republic Mr. Shadi Antonius, alongside Mr. Majed Saqour, President of the International Body and Mr. Qais Dayoub, Migration Affairs Officer.

During the meeting, ways of mutual cooperation between the organization and Lebanese official authorities were discussed, and implementation mechanisms for the “Gateway of Hope” resettlement project were reviewed, which represents a fundamental step to support refugees and provide protection for the most vulnerable groups in Lebanon. An overview was also presented of developmental and humanitarian projects planned for implementation in the upcoming phase, which aim to enhance stability and support local communities.
Dr. Majed Al-Rakabi, High Commissioner for the Middle East and North Africa, emphasized the importance of joint work to provide a dignified life for refugees and support host communities, affirming that this visit comes within the organization’s vision to strengthen partnerships with Lebanese official authorities, and to work hand in hand for a more just and humane future for all groups in need.
This visit embodies the organization’s ongoing commitment to promoting human rights, and providing humanitarian support and developmental programs in Lebanon, reflecting the fundamental values of justice, solidarity, and joint action.
